I had the pleasure of visiting one of Newark’s first CBD retail stores, Plantivia Newark. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the store manager, AJ, who gave me a tour of their offerings. The glowing “HEMP” sign caught my attention, and AJ shared that it stands for Helping Everyone Maintain Peace. The store features a curated selection of hemp-derived CBD products that help relieve anxiety, depression, joint, and muscle pain, all at affordable prices. I purchased a pain-relieving roll-on, a delicious dessert edible, and several CBD oil sachets. The store is well-lit, and the product displays are thoughtfully arranged with educational information and beautiful artwork. As a Black-owned CBD retail store, I was particularly impressed by Plantivia Newark’s commitment to creating a welcoming space for all. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
