As a cannabis entrepreneur and supporter of Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power, I found that many of the principles in the book can be applied to the cannabis industry. While it is important to approach these principles ethically and responsibly, there are several ways that influencers can use them to enhance their influence and success. There’s no doubt that all of the 48 Laws can be used in the cannabis industry strategically, however with a rigorous selection process I have identified these 12 Laws of Power that are particularly relevant for this niche of entrepreneurs to succeed in the cannabis industry.

1. Law 3: Conceal Your Intentions

Strategically reveal information and plans to maintain an element of surprise and control. Share content that offers value and engages your audience without disclosing every detail of your long-term strategies. This can help you maintain an air of mystery and strategic advantage.

2. Law 6: Court Attention at All Costs

Capture and maintain the attention of your audience through compelling and high-quality content. Craft attention-grabbing headlines, use visually appealing images or videos, and share thought-provoking insights. Invest in creating content that stands out and resonates with your audience, compelling them to engage and share your content.

3. Law 9: Win Through Your Actions, Never Through Argument

Focus on demonstrating your expertise, credibility, and value through your actions rather than engaging in fruitless arguments or debates. Provide well-researched information, back your claims with evidence, and let the strength of your content speak for itself. Avoid getting caught up in unnecessary conflicts or debates that detract from your overall goals.

4. Law 10: Avoid the Unhappy and Unlucky

Surround yourself with positive and like-minded individuals who support your goals and aspirations. Collaborate with influential figures and industry experts to expand your network and gain credibility. Stay away from negative or toxic associations that may hinder your growth.

5. Law 16: Use Absence to Increase Respect and Honor

Create a sense of scarcity and exclusivity around your content by selectively releasing it. Consider offering limited-time access, exclusive content for subscribers, or sneak peeks into upcoming projects. By using scarcity and anticipation, you can increase the perceived value of your content and enhance your audience’s respect and engagement.

6. Law 27: Play on People’s Need to Believe

Understand your audience’s desires and aspirations and create content that resonates with their emotional needs and aspirations. Appeal to their values, dreams, and ambitions, providing content that inspires, motivates, and empowers them. By understanding and tapping into your audience’s psychological needs, you can cultivate a loyal and engaged following.

7. Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness

Be proactive and assertive in pursuing opportunities, collaborations, and partnerships. Take calculated risks and seek out meaningful connections within the cannabis industry. Be confident in your abilities, and don’t shy away from putting yourself out there to advance your career as a cannabis blogger, content creator, and influencer.

8. Law 34: Be Royal in Your Own Fashion

Develop a distinct personal style, voice, and brand that sets you apart from others in the cannabis industry. Embrace your unique perspective, strengths, and interests, and infuse them into your content. Stand out by being authentic and true to yourself, allowing your personality to shine through your work.

9. 37 Law: Create Compelling Spectacles

By capturing attention and creating memorable experiences, you can stand out in the industry. Produce unique and engaging content, leverage visuals to make a strong impact, and organize events or collaborations to create memorable moments. Capture attention through unique content, visuals, and events. However, ensure that your spectacles are authentic, ethical, and provide genuine value to your audience.

10. Law 38: Think as You Like but Behave Like Others

Understand your audience’s preferences and adapt your content to resonate with them. While maintaining authenticity, adjust your tone, language, and messaging to align with the interests and expectations of your readers and followers.

11. Law 45: Preach the Need for Change, but Never Reform Too Much at Once

Advocate for positive change and progress in the cannabis industry but be mindful of overwhelming your audience or pushing for drastic shifts all at once. Gradually introduce new ideas, perspectives, and initiatives to create lasting change while respecting the current industry landscape and your audience’s readiness for transformation.

12. Law 48: Assume Formlessness

Adapt to the ever-evolving cannabis industry by remaining flexible and agile. Embrace change, continuously learn, and adapt your strategies to stay ahead of emerging trends. Be versatile in your content creation, exploring different formats and platforms to reach a wider audience.

In conclusion, while the principles from Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power can be insightful, it’s crucial to approach them with ethical considerations and a sense of responsibility. Use these principles to enhance your influence, create compelling content, and build a strong personal brand as a cannabis blogger, content creator and influencer, while maintaining integrity and serving the best interests of your audience and the industry.
